Meet Our Founders
Sublime Cannabis Co. was initially conceived of by CEO Robert Catania. Rob spent most of his life in the hospitality industry, though as a lifelong cannabis advocate, he was eager to expand his horizons into this new realm. Upon the legalization of cannabis for adult recreational use in Massachusetts, he began developing Sublime.
Robert initially received licensure as a marijuana product manufacturer, but went on to sell this company shortly after the onset of Covid to focus his efforts on running his restaurant, Wicked Restaurant and Wine Bar. The family then made the decision to sell the restaurant in the fall of 2023 to focus on new endeavors. Prior to starting Wicked, Rob worked with his family’s business, Catania Hospitality Group. Rob, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a chef at heart, wanted to channel his decades of hospitality experience and his passion for the world of cannabis into this brand new industry. Sheri Catania, Rob’s wife and co-owner of Wicked, developed a deeper love for baking while manning the restaurant’s cafe space. Rob and Sheri aim to bring their experience and love of cooking into the world of cannabis with the unique edible offerings available at Sublime.
Sublime’s President, Evan Lehrer is a professional urban planner who found himself on the regulatory-end of cannabis legalization in the Commonwealth assisting cannabis entrepreneurs through the uncharted territory of cannabis permitting beginning in 2017. Prior to joining forces with Rob, Evan walked retailers, cultivators, product manufacturers, and delivery licensees through the local permitting process. Rob and Evan first met and discovered their mutual interest in the cannabis space, staying in touch over the years. When the opportunity came up, Rob and Evan went on to seek a retail license. Evan quickly found through his work on recreational cannabis that there is a wide generational knowledge gap on the subject. Assisting a demographic unfamiliar with cannabis has always been important to him and became an inspiration for Sublime to place a high priority on educating its customer-base and providing exceptional customer service.
