Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants, increases BDNF (your brain’s growth hormone), and reduces cortisol. It also contains the endocannabinoid anandamide.
Anandamide can be found in plants such as the cacao tree and interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system by binding to the same cannabinoid receptors that THC acts on. Therefore, chocolate is believed to enhance the effects of cannabis. This is especially true for dark chocolate!
